Bass Drum
- demonstrate and describe the 3 basic
playing areas
- dead center: lowest fundamental,
driest sound
- just off-center: low tone but more
resonance
- near edge: little fundamental, too
much resonance, avoid
- Demonstrate basic stroke
- Always use bass drum beater
- Same concept as other percussion
strokes
- Demonstrate basic muffling
- Avoid when possible
- Usually after head is struck
- Bass drum placement
Crash Cymbals
1. Demonstrate basic
