HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

I’ve been having a blast performing for Halloween parties the past few days, wearing silly hats, and singing some silly songs. This particular one was a fundraiser near the University of Washington in Seattle.

The adults were hanging out talking, and, of course, I couldn’t resist getting the kids involved. Some of the children made slime balloons to sell! Hilarious!

I made up songs about slime balloons and had them come up as background singers… I think I introduced them as the Slimeettes!

One girl was so, sooo focused on the music that she didn’t want to leave when her family left, so they let her stay and sing and dance with us. It is so magical to see a kid (and their parents) realize in front of your eyes that they have a great passion for music!

Drawbacks of the solo artist

I quite enjoy my solo shows! There's so much I love about them… except, perhaps, having to carry all my equipment by myself.

That's the difficult side of being your own singer, drum set player, steel drummer, marimba player, ukulele player, DJ, producer, AND sound engineer. But hey, challenges are good right?

These pictures show an older setup, which was SUPER cool! But I had to streamline it a bit in the past year. My current one is a faster setup than the one in these pictures, but a tiny bit less cool looking (to me). My back is happier, though!
